Let the couple go where the night takes them
Let the couple go where the night takes them.
Where the moon spills silver upon forgotten roads,
where silence blooms like jasmine in the dark,
where two shadows walk beside each other
as if the stars themselves are learning love.
Let them wander beyond the reach of clocks,
beyond the noise of ordinary sorrow.
Let the wind loosen every fear from their hearts,
and dress them gently in midnight dreams.
May her laughter melt into the river of the night.
May his eyes hold galaxies only she can read.
And may the world disappear for a little while,
until there is nothing left but their breathing.
Let them belong to the sleepless sky,
to the trembling music of distant rain,
to the soft ache of holding someone too dearly.
For some loves are not meant to be caged by morning.
Some loves were written only for the night.
And the night always knows where to take them.
